Description
Equip your students with the tools to explore and illustrate the dynamics of atmospheric movement through this engaging Local & Global Winds One-Pager Research Project. Designed for middle-school science (grades 6-8), this activity invites learners to investigate:
- Local winds such as land/sea breezes, mountain/valley breezes, and how local topography and heating differences drive them.
- Global wind patterns including trade winds, westerlies, polar easterlies, and how Earth’s rotation and uneven heating shape these large-scale systems.
Students transform their findings into a single, visually-rich one-page summary that shows understanding and creativity.
This resource is ideal for use as a unit review, gallery walk display, alternative assessment, or enrichment activity. Whether your teaching environment is in-person, hybrid, or remote, this print-and-go or fully editable digital version saves you prep time while engaging students.
When students are finished with their one pagers, have them do a gallery walk to view other students work. When my students finish one pagers, I put all of their finished projects on a Prezi and have them do a virtual gallery walk. The students love it! A gallery walk worksheet is included!
