Bring chemical bonding to life with this Ionic & Covalent Bonds 3D Research Project Cube, a hands-on, student-centered research activity designed for upper elementary and middle school science classrooms. Students explore the two major types of chemical bonds — ionic and covalent — and investigate how atoms bond, share, or transfer electrons, the properties of resulting substances, and real-world applications. Students can complete these cubes two ways. You can print the template on card stock and have them complete it by hand, or you can give them the PowerPoint template, have them complete it in PowerPoint, then print the completed cube.
