Bring ecosystems learning to life with this Biodiversity 3D Research Project Cube, a hands-on, student-centered research activity designed for upper elementary and middle school science classrooms. Students explore the concept of biodiversity — including species variety, ecosystem health, threats to diversity, and conservation strategies — and organize their findings into a three-dimensional research cube that makes abstract ecological ideas visual, engaging, and memorable.
Perfect for life science, ecology units, environmental science lessons, or STEM research projects, this activity blends research, critical thinking, analysis, writing, and creative representation while providing students a meaningful way to showcase their learning in your classroom or hallway displays.
Students can complete these cubes two ways. You can print the template on card stock and have them complete it by hand, or you can give them the PowerPoint template, have them complete it in PowerPoint, then print the completed cube.
