Description
Teach plate tectonics and mantle convection with this comprehensive middle school Earth science mini bundle! These two connected lessons include animated teaching slides, differentiated Cornell notes, answer keys, CER writing opportunities, and interactive science notebook activities.
Designed for students in grades 6–8, the lessons first explore how tectonic plates interact and shape Earth’s surface. Students then investigate the processes that contribute to plate movement, including mantle convection, ridge push, slab pull, heat from Earth’s interior, and gravity.
The Cornell notes are available in multiple formats, making it easy to meet the needs of different learners. Choose from complete notes, fill-in-the-blank notes, or blank notes for students who need additional writing practice. A Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning response helps students answer the essential question and demonstrate their understanding using evidence from the lesson.
