Description
Guide your students on a cosmic journey from swirling dust to a full solar system with this engaging Formation of the Solar System One-Pager Research Project! Designed for middle school science (grades 6-8), this activity invites learners to explore how our solar system formed—from the collapse of a solar nebula, formation of the Sun, planetesimals, and protoplanetary disk to the planet formation process and leftover debris.
Perfect for a unit wrap-up, gallery walk display, alternative assessment, or enrichment activity. Works in-person, hybrid, or virtually — this resource is print-and-go or fully editable, saving you prep time while engaging students in meaningful science.
When students are finished with their one pagers, have them do a gallery walk to view other students work. When my students finish one pagers, I put all of their finished projects on a Prezi and have them do a virtual gallery walk. The students love it!
