Description
Bring seasonal engagement into your science classroom with this Christmas Science One-Pager Project! This activity helps students build science understanding, creativity, and content literacy while exploring real-world Christmas-themed science topics. Perfect for grades 6–8, this resource works beautifully for projects, sub plans, enrichment, or pre-break lessons.
⭐ What Students Will Do
Students choose one Christmas-themed science question and create a visually engaging one-pager that demonstrates their understanding. Each topic encourages research, critical thinking, vocabulary integration, and illustration.
Topics include:
- The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis)
- Why We See Snowflakes / Snow Crystal Formation
- The Chemistry of Holiday Lights (electricity & circuits)
- States of Matter in Hot Cocoa
- Reindeer Adaptations
- How the Sun Causes Seasons (Winter Solstice)
When students are finished with their one pagers, have them do a gallery walk to view other students work. When my students finish one pagers, I put all of their finished projects on a Prezi and have them do a virtual gallery walk. The students love it!
