Description
Help your students understand the vital role of keystone species with this engaging Keystone Species One-Pager Research Project! Designed for middle-school science classes (grades 6-8), this activity invites learners to research a keystone species—examining its role, impact, and the consequences if it were removed—and then express their understanding through a visually compelling one-page summary.
This resource is ideal as a unit wrap-up, review activity, gallery-walk display, or alternative assessment. Whether you teach in-person, digitally, or in a hybrid format, this “print-and-go or fully editable digital” version fits seamlessly into your workflow—saving you prep time while engaging students
When students are finished with their one pagers, have them do a gallery walk to view other students work. When my students finish one pagers, I put all of their finished projects on a Prezi and have them do a virtual gallery walk. The students love it!
